USF IDRB

USF IDRBThe Interdisciplinary Research Building is a Class A laboratory space, privately owned and funded. This building is for high-quality funded research groups who thrive on interdisciplinary research. BCH Mechanical has performed the mechanical work on the base building and has performed a majority of the work on the new labs.

This is a 32,000 sq. ft. lab space and infrastructure upgrade to handle the facility growth. The building is nearing 100% occupancy in this high-growth life sciences field. BCH Mechanical is providing a new Carrier water cooled chiller, Marley cooling tower and Dynatherm custom air handler to upgrade the infrastructure. The lab portion expands their Siemens controls, lab valves and incorporates stainless steel ductwork to accommodate the facilities requirements. The plumbing systems includes: Laboratory vacuum, compressed air, de-ionized water in polypropylene pipe.

The entire project was also done in full Integrated Project Delivery format (IPD) integrating our 3-D CAD coordination process into a fully workable system prior to installation.
